Privacy policy
How Stampd handles personal information.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when it may be visible to other users or service providers, and what choices you have when you use Stampd.
1. Scope and Coverage
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Stampd mobile app, the Stampd website at stampdsocial.com, waitlist forms, password-reset flows, customer support communications, moderation submissions, and other services that link to this policy. When we say Stampd, we, us, or our, we mean Stampd Social.
This policy does not control how third-party services handle your information when you leave Stampd or choose to use their products directly. For example, if you use Apple or Google sign-in, or mapping and place-search features backed by third-party services, those providers may handle information under their own terms and privacy notices.
2. Information We Collect
Account, profile, and sign-in information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect information such as your email address, username, display name, password credentials, profile photo, bio, hometown, and account settings. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we also receive the basic account details those providers return to complete authentication and connect your Stampd account.
Trips, moments, comments, messages, and social activity
We collect the content and activity you choose to create in Stampd, including trips, moments, captions, comments, direct messages, likes, stamps, follows, blocks, reports, and related community interactions.
Photos, media, and metadata
If you upload photos or other media, we collect the files you choose to upload along with the technical metadata needed to store and serve them. The app may also read limited photo metadata, such as captured time, to help organize a trip or moment you are creating.
Place and travel information
We collect the location and travel details you attach to your content, such as city, country, selected place names, addresses, map coordinates, trip dates, return details, lodging information, and other travel fields you enter, select, or confirm.
Waitlist, support, and safety information
If you join the waitlist, request support, submit a moderation report, appeal an action, or otherwise contact us, we collect the information you include in that communication, such as your name, email address, account details, and the content of your request.
Technical, device, and session information
We collect and generate the technical information reasonably needed to operate Stampd, secure accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and deliver content. This can include session tokens, IP-derived network information, timestamps, request logs, media keys, and similar operational records. Stampd’s current app build does not include third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and maintain secure sessions.
- To host, organize, rank, deliver, and display trips, moments, photos, comments, messages, and related profile activity.
- To apply the visibility settings and defaults you choose for your content.
- To power follows, notifications, likes, stamps, messaging, moderation, and other social and safety features.
- To support place search, mapping, route, and travel-detail features you choose to use.
- To store and deliver uploaded media.
- To respond to support requests, investigate reports, enforce our policies, troubleshoot issues, and protect the service, our users, and our rights.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Content Visibility and Sharing
Stampd is designed around sharing travel content with other users. Depending on the visibility setting you choose for a trip, moment, or profile area, your content may be visible to the public, to approved followers, to collaborators, or only to you.
Profile information, comments, follows, likes, stamps, and shared trip links can also make your activity visible to others. Please do not post anything in Stampd that you would not want another user, moderator, or service provider to process in order to run the product.
5. How We Disclose Information
We disclose personal information only when reasonably necessary to operate Stampd or when the law allows or requires it. Categories of recipients can include:
- service providers that help us with hosting, storage, email, authentication, infrastructure, mapping, place search, and security
- other users when your content or profile is visible to them under your settings or their interactions with you
- moderators, professional advisors, and counterparties in a transaction involving all or part of our business
- law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is needed to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect users and the public
We do not build Stampd around third-party behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before rolling the change out.
6. Service Providers and International Transfers
Stampd relies on third-party providers for functions such as cloud hosting and storage, authentication, password-reset email delivery, mapping, and place-search features. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own service terms.
Stampd and our providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Data protection laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live.
7. Retention and Availability
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Stampd, maintain account and safety records, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and protect the service. Different categories of information may be kept for different periods depending on how they are used and the risks involved.
Stampd does not promise permanent storage or permanent availability of any account, photo, message, trip, or other content. Content may be deleted or become unavailable because of user action, moderation, account closure, product changes, technical failures, abuse prevention, legal requests, or other operational reasons. If you delete your account or content, we will process deletion through our systems, but backup copies, caches, and security logs may remain for a limited period.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can edit certain profile information inside the app.
- You can choose visibility settings for trips and moments.
- You can sign out and remove your saved session from a device.
- You can delete your account from the in-app settings screen.
- You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link where available or by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information we handle. No system is perfectly secure, and no method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for using good judgment about what you choose to post or send through Stampd. Do not use Stampd as your only place to store confidential, sensitive, or irreplaceable information.
10. Children
Stampd is not intended for children under 13, or for anyone below the minimum age required to use the service where they live. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child who was not allowed to use Stampd, we may delete the information and close the account.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Stampd changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
